Pai - miejsce "legenda" wśród backpackersów. Przed wyjazdem nie wiedziałam, że takie w ogóle istnieje. Najpierw o Pai wspomniała jedna osoba, potem kolejna... każdy polecał, każdy mówił: na bank Ci się tam spodoba - no to pojechałam. Jeżeli kiedyś będziecie w drodze, w mini vanie bądź busie cóż, torebki foliowe wiszą na oparciach nie bez powodu :D Droga jest niesamowicie kręta i prowadzi przez góry - czytaj: prawie na 100% komuś zrobi się w końcu niedobrze. Fuj. I nie, to nie byłam ja.

Tutaj po raz pierwszy wsiadłam na skuter. Cóż... było to ciekawe doświadczenie :D Hamulce okazały się słabe i prawie wjechałam w dwa auta (po 3minutowej nauce jazdy na polu, gdzie zakopałam się w jakimś błocie). Dobrze, że przyjechała ma holenderka Solly - dzięki niej nie zabiłam się będąc kierowcą. Pai jest miasteczkiem w którym dość łatwo utknąć (co robi 3/4 osób, które tam zagoszczą). Położone pośród gór, w dolince, niedaleko znajdziemy gorące źródła (Pai Hot Springs), słonie, wodospady (np. Nam Tok Mo Paeng oddalony od Pai o 8km) i dużo, dużo zieleni.

Wiele osób twierdzi, że "sztucznie" postanowiono zrobić z miasta kolejny "kurorcik" i atrakcję dla turystów... Inna część traktuje Pai jako hippisowską mekkę. Bo: a) tanio tu straszliwie, b) dookoła naturalnie, c) totalnie bezstresowo i luzacko. Ja należę do tej drugiej grupy. Żałuję, że nie zabawiłam tam dłużej. Mam dobry powód żeby wrócić!

Co robić w Pai? Skakać do wodospadów, iść do gorących źródeł, wspiąć się po schodach pod wielkiego białego Buddę (np. na wschód słońca - ubierzcie się ciepło!), można wybrać się na trekking, pozwiedzać okolicę na skuterku - polecam pobliski Canyon i zachód słońca, pojechać do chińskiej mieściny po drodze na wodospad, dla ciekawskich - możecie spróbować wielu rarytasów z magicznymi grzybkami bądź innymi specyfikami (i nie, nie chodzi o pieczarki) ale najlepiej jest... po prostu pochillować. 

Dookoła jest wiele fajnych miejsc, regge barów (wybawiłam się, że ho ho!), klubików, a nawet i dyskoteka pełna Tajów :D Moje szare komórki po 10 minutach w takiej mordowni chyba obumarły.Codziennie możemy się przejść na Night Market, zjeść coś taniego i lokalnego, często możemy się natknąć na fireshow. Dla każdego coś miłego!

Pai  is the legendary place among backpackers. Really.  When I came to Asia I didn't know that this city exist. One person mentioned about it, then another one...  everybody recommended that  and everyone was saying that for 100% you gonna love it - well, I went there. If  u ever will be on a way there in a mini van or the bus, well, plastic bags hanging on the backs  are there because of simple reason :D  Road is incredibly winding and leads through the mountains - for sure someone finally will gets sick. Ugh. And no, it wasn't me.

Here for the first time I sit on the scooter. Well... it was an interesting experience :D Brakes were quiet weak and I almost drove in two cars (after 3 minutes driving lesson on the field where I buried in some mud, whoops). Well good that my lovely dutchie Solly came -if I wouldn't have her probably I would die on a scooter.

 

Pai is a town where quite easy to get stuck in (which 3/4 of people do). Surrounded by mountains, in the valley, close to the hot springs (Pai Hot Springs), elephants, waterfalls (. Nam Tok Mo Paeng is 8km away from Pai) and lots and lots of greenery.

Many people say that they decided to make from the city another attraction for tourists... Another part is treating Pai as a hippie mecca. Because: a) it's terribly cheap here, b) nature around c) totally stress free zone. I belong to the latter group. I regret that I didn't stay there any longer, but always it's good reason to come back :)

What to do in Pai? Jump  and swin in the waterfalls, go to the hot springs, climb the stairs up to the great white Buddha (for a sunrise - get dressed up warm!), you can go for trekking, exploring the area on a scooter - I recommend canyon and sunset there, go to Chinese little town on the way to the waterfall, for all those more curious - you can try many rarities made with magic mushrooms or other stuff ;), but the best is just to chill and get lazy for a while!

Gorące (baaardzo gorące!) źródła / Hot (veeery hot) Springs

All around there are many cool places, reggae bars and even disco full of Thai  people, madness! My brain cells after 10 minutes were dead :D. Everyday there's Night Market where you can eat something cheap and local, often you come across a fire shows. There is something for everyone  in Pai :)
